Welcome to Shilp Interiors. I am Shilpa Mistri, the founder and lead Interior Designer. Design has been my constant companion in my journey through life. My great-grandfather, a teacher, and a skilled custom carpenter, intricately crafted doors and furniture, making art an integral part of my family’s legacy.  From creating patterns and art with fabrics as a young girl to pursuing Civil Engineering in India, my path eventually led me to the USA.

Upon arriving in the USA, I had the privilege of working in an Architectural firm where I expanded my knowledge in technology and architecture. Throughout my career, I worked in commercial and industrial sites and buildings. I have also worked in different fields to learn basic installation to finish materials.

Recognizing my potential, I desired further education to enhance my understanding of commercial and residential design. This pursuit led me to Wayne State University, where I earned a BA in Design with a major in Interior Design.

My diverse professional experiences illuminated a clear path – to fulfill my potential, I needed to start my own design firm where I could use my experience and knowledge. This realization emerged from the perfect marriage of my technical expertise (the ‘left brain’) with my innate design flair (the “right brain”). This fusion allows me to offer clients a unique blend of functionality and aesthetics. In 2019, Shilp Interiors was born from this vision.

At Shilp Interiors, we specialize in residential, commercial, and hospitality interior design for existing spaces and new constructions. Our goal is to breathe new life into every project we undertake, crafting spaces that resonate with individuality and purpose.
